How the CS2 skin market works

Counter-Strike has the largest cosmetic economy in gaming, and CS2 inherited all of it. When Counter-Strike 2 replaced CS:GO, inventories carried over untouched — which is why the market still trades finishes from cases that shipped years before CS2 existed, and why supply for those cases is fixed forever.

One consequence worth stating plainly: a CSGO marketplace and a CS2 marketplace are now the same thing. The game was renamed, the inventories were not split, and the items people still call CSGO skins are the identical items trading today under the CS2 name. If you arrived here looking for CSGO markets, the CS2 market above is the one you want — every Counter-Strike skin from every case, old name or new, is listed in it.

Skins reach the market through a small number of channels:

  • opening a weapon case, which requires a matching key;
  • souvenir packages and drops from tournament broadcasts;
  • weekly care-package drops from playing;
  • trade-up contracts, which convert ten skins of one grade into one of the next;
  • trading directly with other players;
  • buying on the Steam Community Market or a marketplace such as Mannco.store.

Only the last two let you choose the specific item you end up with. Everything else is a lottery with a known cost and an unknown result — and for the high-tier items most people actually want, the odds are long enough that buying outright is usually cheaper than chasing them.

What drives the price of a CS2 skin

CS2 pricing is more granular than most game economies, because two copies of the same skin can be worth very different amounts.

  • Float and condition — every skin carries a hidden 0-to-1 wear value, which sets the condition label (Factory New through Battle-Scarred) and how worn the finish looks inside it. Low-float examples of a popular skin command a substantial premium over otherwise identical high-float ones.
  • Rarity grade — the colour tiers, from Consumer and Mil-Spec up through Restricted, Classified and Covert, and then the ★ tier that covers knives and gloves. Grade sets the broad price band before anything else is considered.
  • Pattern — the seed that decides how a finish is laid out on the weapon. On some skins this is decorative; on others it is most of the value. Case Hardened blues, Fade percentages, Doppler phases and Marble Fade layouts are all pattern-driven markets in their own right.
  • StatTrak and Souvenir — StatTrak counts your kills on that weapon and usually carries a premium. Souvenir versions come from tournament drops with player stickers applied and have their own, much thinner supply.
  • Stickers and charms — applied stickers can add real value, especially rare tournament ones in good condition, though scraping or a poor placement can just as easily subtract it.
  • Supply and demand — discontinued cases never get more supply, so their contents drift upward over time, while newly released collections are at their most abundant on day one.

The listings above show float, pattern seed and applied stickers on the card itself, so you can judge all of this before opening an item — not after. The most expensive CS:GO cases and a guide to cheap stickers go deeper on the supply side.

Buying CS2 skins on Mannco.store

Everything listed above is in stock and held by our trading bots, so there is no waiting on a seller to come online and accept a trade. You add skins to your cart, pay, and withdraw — the same flow as any other online store.

A few things worth knowing before you buy:

  • Prices are converted to your local currency automatically, and the price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
  • Signing in uses Steam OpenID, so you never enter a Steam password on Mannco.store.
  • You can pay directly at checkout with a method available in your country, or top up your Mannco.store balance first and spend from that.

The buying flow, start to finish:

  1. Sign in through Steam and add your Steam trade link to your profile.
  2. Browse the CS2 market above. Filter by wear, rarity or price range, and check the float and pattern on any item you are considering.
  3. Add skins to your cart and check out.
  4. The skins land in your Mannco.store inventory.
  5. Withdraw them, and accept the trade offer one of our bots sends you.

The withdrawal itself normally takes under a minute. Bear in mind that Valve applies a trade hold to items after they change hands, so a skin you receive cannot be traded onward immediately — that restriction comes from the game, not from us, and every marketplace is subject to it.

Selling CS2 skins for real money

Selling works in the same direction. You deposit the skins you want to sell, set your own price on each one, and the sale completes when a buyer takes it. The seller fee is 5% — one of the lowest on the market — and it is the only fee charged on a sale.

Once the balance is in your account you can withdraw it to a payout method such as a bank transfer or PayPal, or spend it on the market without cashing out at all. This is the practical reason most sellers use a third-party marketplace: Steam's own market pays out to Steam Wallet funds only, which can never leave Steam.

If you would rather not wait for a buyer, CS2 skins can also be sold instantly at a quoted price, trading a slightly lower return for immediate settlement.

A CS2 marketplace the community trusts

Third-party skin trading has a long history of scams, and a marketplace is only worth using if it removes that risk rather than adding to it. Every trade on Mannco.store goes through our own bots, item ownership transfers before payment settles, and buyers and sellers never have to trust each other directly. Two-factor authentication is available on every account.

Mannco.store also runs full marketplaces for TF2, Rust and Dota 2, and your balance is shared across all of them — items sold in one game can pay for items in another.

Our track record is public: you can read what buyers and sellers actually say on Trustpilot, and the Mannco.store Discord is open if you want to ask the community — or our support team — before your first trade.

Frequently asked questions

What are CS2 skins?

CS2 skins are cosmetic finishes applied to weapons, knives, gloves and agents in Counter-Strike 2. They change how an item looks and nothing else — a skinned rifle behaves identically to a default one.

Did CS:GO skins carry over to CS2?

Yes. Counter-Strike 2 replaced CS:GO in place and inventories carried over intact, which is why the market still trades items from cases released years before CS2 existed. Skins were re-rendered on the new engine, so some finishes look noticeably different to how they did in CS:GO.

What is float in CS2 and does it matter?

Float is a hidden 0-to-1 wear value that decides both the condition label — Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred — and how worn the finish looks within that label. It matters a great deal to price: a low-float Factory New and a high-float Battle-Scarred of the same skin are effectively two different items to the market.

Where can I buy CS2 skins?

CS2 skins can be bought on the Steam Community Market, traded directly with other players, or bought on a third-party marketplace such as Mannco.store. A marketplace is the only route where you can see the exact float, pattern and stickers of the item before paying for it.

How do I sell CS2 skins for real money?

Deposit the skins you want to sell to Mannco.store, set your own price, and the sale completes when a buyer takes them — the seller fee is 5%. You can then withdraw your balance to a payout method such as a bank transfer or PayPal. Steam's own market only pays out to Steam Wallet funds, which is the main reason sellers use a third-party marketplace at all.
